Patients who are on regular, long-term medication may order a repeat prescription without seeing the doctor.
48 hours notice is required to issue repeat prescriptions.
There are several ways to obtain your prescription:-
- Online.
- Bring it to the surgery and pop it into the box at the reception counter, (if you would like us to post it back to you, please include a a stamped addressed envelope).
- Fax the details to us.
- No telephone requests can be accepted. Requests should be made on the computerised prescription form where possible, failing that in writing or in person.
- Those requiring prescriptions to be sent by post should include a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
- By special arrangement the housebound may request repeat prescriptions over the telephone. Please phone between 2.00pm to 3.00pm on weekdays.
Nominating a pharmacy
You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- Online, on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
- At your GP practice
- At any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions
Medication reviews
If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. Please book a routine appointment for your review.
